Do you get more jobs if you are certified?

It’s definitely a plus. Being certified tells the employer that you’re experienced since you’ve been exposed to different teaching methods. Also, you’re more likely to get those sought-after university-teaching jobs.

There seems to be a slight difference in pay for those who have a teaching certificate and those who don’t. It might be worth getting the certificate, especially if you’re looking at better schools rather than your run of the mill hagwon

It definitely helps but it is not mandatory. A large portion of the teachers here do not have a certificate. Having one will definitely give you more options not online in the types of schools but that also opens the door and gives you more options in the location in the country.

Getting more education can never be a bad thing. Taking a certification course will help you to understand some basic principles and theories.
Almost any hagwon or school, will pay you more if you have TEFL certification. Most places are looking for 100+hours course.
I took an online course (TEFL institute of Chicago) and this was perfectly acceptable. The extra money I made in the first 6 months of teaching paid for the course.
